Weekend Update

Yesterday we celebrated a national day of mourning for Black Saturday.
Black Saturday was 7th february 2009. The temperature hit about 48 degrees in the afternoon, the wind was crazy and some nasty arse fires started- I remember driving in the heat out to Reddy Roast to see Mum and thinking, jesus it is hot, but not realising how hot. We have had some small spot fires and such but I dont think any of us had any idea what was to come- 209 people killed, 7500 people homeless and a crapload of animals homeless and killed. makes me cry thinking about it still. I have never, in my 27 years, witnessed anything as horrific so close to home! God bless all the firefighters and anyone who helped anyone throughout this tragedy. God Bless all the people killed and harmed in the fires and God Bless the rest of us, forever affected by this tragedy but thankfully safe..

Soo.. Friday night was dull. I didn't stay for that long, ABL and I then went over to the casino and had some dinner and a rather delish pistaccio gelato to follow... and a marzipan chocolate from the yummoli chocolate shop. (however, I feel I MUST add that I decided Friday night was my last bad food foray and I have been very good since then!)

Saturday I woke up late, had some yummy porridge, got a date cancelled by Cass (boo) and went and had coffee with mumsy, dadsy and ABL at Gloria Jeans... went to Big W and bought a top (can't really describe, will wear soon ha ha) I then went to Kmart and Hmm- let me tell YOU! They had some really great shit! I saw this totally awesome coat that I WILL be laybying.. grey flannal, hooded, cropped and duffle buttoned- hot. They also had nice stripey cardi's and cute pocket-ed grey buttoned vests (I ended up buying the vest sunday ha ha)
Saturday night I did a shift at the Roast.. worked with Sabina, was OK actually, didn't totally hate it! I worked again with my neice Chloe which is fun, she is a really hilarious chick.
Sunday, woke up early.. and discovered my little jubbery jublet had died!! Jubb Jubb was my fighting fish. I bought him about 4 years ago from the Footscray Market at the same time I bought Anna and Kelly one. Anna's died that same year, and I just checked with kel (ha ha) her's died late last year... so Jubb Jubb lived the longest!!!!
But still.. a sad morning. The rest of the day was spent seeing natals at work, having coffee and a boost juice wth husband, browsing (not not buying) from Savers and having my sister over for a coffee..
Only one kitten left too btw.. yay!
Also.. I just need to say, someone did something for me last night, a favour, and it was really nice and considerate and restored my faith in human kind xxx
