Supre? say whaaaaat?

During my heiness weekend I popped into Supre. I am not sure if I mentioned but I bought this grey tee shirt from the Knox Supre a week ago and I didn’t like it. So I wanted to see if there was something I was going to change it over to.. I didn’t really like my chances but thought I would have a crack.
So I saw the denim leggings out the front. I had seen them at knox too. They were about $6 more than the city chic ones but seemed to be more stretchy that them. I took those and a lace a-line tank dress (meant to be worn over stuff I assume because it was dead see thru) into the fitting room. I’m sure the sales girl was like, wtf.
Soo I pulled the leggings over my feet and thought, pfft no way! I then started pulling them up like tights and I was like, whoa, these might be ok. I got them all the way up and then pulled. Now, I HATE anything low waisted. I was pleasantly surprised to see that these were actually quite high! The lace dress was really nice too! Loose-ish and quite short, but would look great over leggings and with a cute singlet or something. Or even a short sleeved top. I ended up only buying the leggings and not the dress (but I might go back this weekend coming and buy it!)
I said to the lady when I was paying- wtf is up with the sizes here? And she said a) they now stock some stuff in XXL and b) their stuff is now made in Australia so the sizes are bigger.

Saturday night I worked. Sunday I slept in, looong overdue, was over kids, animals and inlaws. Went for a walk about 12pmish to Parkmore as I hadn’t walked on the treadmill since Friday night (a bit hard to work the treadmill in on the weekends when I am working but I kinda figure being on my feet in a food store for 5-6 hours is enough exercise) so I bought some new Matrix shampoo and got an eyebrow wax, bought a cream smockey top and had a relaxing coffee at GJ’s. Then went to work again Sunday night. And now am here, at work Monday. Blahhh…

Looking forward to;
MAYBE going to savers after work- 50% off sale
A nice calamari dinner
A good treadmill work out
A house tidy

the lace glove debut

black flat high boots- big w
purple tee-shirt tunic- thrifted savers
black ribb leggings- big w
grey angora cardi- target
I don't know what it is but I cannot get enough sleep this week and that kinda worries me because today is thursday, tomorrow is friday and saturday and sunday I a) am working at the roast b) have the kids and c) have the inlaws down. I am going to be knackered. The following saturday begins my month of 11 hour work days saturdays rather than just the 6 I do now. Yuk yuk yuk. But I need the moolah really.. for reasons I will get into soonish I am sure :-)
It just seems that I get up, get dressed go to work. Spend the whole day doing sweet FA as we are pretty quiet. (I try to get some writing in during the day and stuff on the sly, ha ha) I then walk to the stupid bus stop. Wait for a bus, Get to dandenong, get another bus home. Do some washing and a little tidying up. Get on the internet for a bit or get on the treadmill. Do dinner. Do dishes and washing up. Wash hair. Go to bed :-) I mean, its not as bad as it sounds lol, I like routine. I just mean to convey that I covet a night where I come home and sit on the couch. And then go to bed :-) sounds great hey?
I had an epiphany about this outfit. I just thought this summery tunic would look great with my new fave grey cardi and I think I was right. I love the combination of grey and purple!
I also thought I would throw on my new lace gloves. I think they are more like glove-lets actually :-) They feel kinda odd and scratchy but I like them :-)
Am heading to big w tonight. I am actually for the first time ever on real spending rashions, but they have my flat black boots in tan and I have to have to HAVE TO have a pair. $35 mah!

black flat high boots- big w
cardi and stripey top- thrifted, savers

I forgot to post this yesterday. Not much to say about it really. The leggings boots and cardi are old. The stripey top is a new oldie from Savers last week. It is black pepper brand and is that gross slinky material but i kinda like it. I tried something different with my hair today, I pinned the fringe up and away in a semi quiff-ness. Mmmmah.. not sure if I likie.

Grey Gardens

black long top/short dress- kmart
grey angora knit boyfriend cardi target
black + silver scarf- rubi shoes
vampire novel ha ha- kmart
tired this morning because of my busy weekend. Not too bad however. I woke up at 7:15am and thought fuck it, I'm, not hurrying. Sat down and had a glass of pepsi max and rice bubbles (HEY, pepsi max is no sugar and has f-all calories, same with rice bubbles. No fibre or anything good.. but hardly any cals all the same!) I sauntered into the shower at half past seven and was still out the door at 8:05am- score!
I am in love with my new cardi.. it is soft and warm
in love with my new scarf.. it is on trend I think :-)
in love with these crossroads leggings- something different from the usual shitty big w ribbed ones
LEMMING THOSE CITY CHIC DENIM LEGGINS GRR SHOULD HAVE GOT THEM YESTERDAY!!
Ooh.. I found this online questionaiire that I wanted to fill in!! YAY, questions!

How many browser windows do you have open at the moment for online window shopping? Pfft. none
What music are you listening to right now? Radio.. Boys + Girls, Evermore
What was the last article of clothing or accessory you purchased? grey angora cardi, brown clutch and black and silver scarf yesterday. Ohh and black lace gloves finally!
What piece do you wish most to add to your closet at the moment? denim leggings and a new brown belt
What current trend are you loving the most? black + white, black + grey, semi gothic winter dressing, wet look/"rats" leggings, ankle boots, crosses, denim and tan (always a fave)
What current trend do you hate the most? I am getting over layers- especially the short sleeved jumpers/vests over long sleeved tight tops- it is being done to death by everyone and I am seeing too many "older" ladies dressed in it- it is very "millers" to me. Yech.
What is your fave style or fashion-centric television program? Aust next Top Model- I like watching what models wear.
Who is your favorite designer at the moment? Balmain
What is your favorite footwear line? seriously? like IRL- target. Its on trend and fits my size 10-11 hooves. In fantasy land... Steve Madden.
Three fave materials? Spandex, Lycra, Cashmere
Three words to describe your overall sense of style? mainstream, no reservations (meaning I dress like I am skinny even though I am not lol)
How would you describe your winter look?
What will your look be this spring? no idea yet
What trend do you see becoming the biggest come spring? too early to say!
Who is your pick for the most stylish "it" celeb? Nicole Ritchie is ok...but i prefer real life blogs for inspiration.
If someone handed you $10,000 where would you blow it? Serious? not all on clothes! probably not a lot actually.. maybe 2 grand.. the rest? I would buy a new car :-)
Favorite shopping destination? IRL... I like Knox, Southland. Bridge Rd Richmond. In reality I would say USA only because it seems they have a shit load of larger sized boutiques.

I am so into this cross xx

I had so much fun sunday! Hubby and I were up early, threw on some skinnies and a hoody and went to drop roger off for his hair cut! Then went to Cranbourne and had a delectable breakfast muffin and coffee while he was getting snipped. Picked up our baby, went home, chilled for a bit (ie Hubby went back to bed for a little bit, I watched Almost Famous and painted my nails.. did a little washing..) then went to Knox, did some shopping.. (bought new grey knit cardi, lace fingerless gloves, brown clutch, grey top and black and silver fringed scarf) I was umming and ahhing re the denim leggings from city chic.. I finally decided on them, went back to buy them (at 4:50pm mind you) and the store had already closed! How rude! So now I will have to get to a city chic thursday night to buy them. Grr. Other than that there was nothing i wanted. I think I have so much clothes at the mo I need a month off! Jeez! We then went to Salsa's and had a mexican feed.. oohh soo good. I had the chicken fajita burrito and yum yum yum! Then we went and saw Star Trek. NOT the movie I would have picked but anyway.. it was suprisingly good!! Awesome day.. it's nice to have dates with your husband, ha ha.

Comfy Casual Day

blue flats- target
blue ridge skinnies- big w
grey striped hooded top- kmart
black singlet under- thrifted
blue scarf- supre
black fingertipless gloves- some $2 shop

Its cold. I know once the fog breaks it will be warmer so I layered up today and did it oh-so casually like. I had a real craving for jeans today :-)

I am happy its friday. Tonight I am going straight home to have a house tidy and do a few km's on the treadie. Will then make steak and mash for din dins.. yum. A nice quiet tv watching night. tomorrow, will sleep in, watch some TV, maybe go out for a coffee before I go to work. Saturday night after work I will get changed at the back of the roast ha ha and go to the cove with Cass + Nat for a bit. Sunday, Roger is getting a doggy haircut and then husband and I are going to go to Knox, do a shop, see a movie and have some mexican. Busy weekend, I think a quiet one tonight is in need!

Popped into Savers last night.. I know there will be a 50% off sale in a week but because I won't get there till 6pm all the good shit will be gone. I usually use the 50% off sales to get the kids some stuff. Anyway, I had to pee soo bad while I was in there I couldn't really concentrate but I did manage to get a striped loose long sleeved tee and a sheer boho-ey looong blouse- will look nice with a belt over leggings or skinny jeans I think. Oh and some cute black + white flats with a skull on them for one of my step daughters. I then went to Target and picked up some black flats for myself on sale for like $12 and some Free Fusion textured legging/tights.

The shoes I am wearing today I swear I bought about a year ago for $8 on sale. I don't think I have worn them yet. I thought I would today but, I felt black shoes were too heavy with this outfit.

BTW I am still totally obsessed with the vampire academy novels and have started reading them again.. ha ha..

whitesnake

I love Whitesnake. I love a good 80's faux metal band.

I digress. This is the other Lily + Lou top I bought last sunday. I tried it on in a bigger size but decided on the smaller one. it's still a loose fit but not quite so baggy. In the store I think I liked the peacock one better but maybe now that this one is on i like this better? It's a little "nighttime" for work maybe but mah, i never care about that kind of stuff. Well actually, maybe I do.. you see..
I have been reading the Vogue forum again heaps lately... work has been quiet. I can't actually remember exactly what my user name and password was but so I can only watch not post.. but it has been a good read! One of the posts I read was titled.. Not being able to get away with being fashionable in australia?
It was all about people wearing fashion and being "looked at" and sometimes hung shit on. It was a good and interesting read, a little pretensious in places because I kinda think people who wear high fashion like being looked at.. but i do understand the stigma because like I have mentioned many times I work in industrial Dandenong (a bogan south east suburb of melbourne) and I love fashion and most of the other girls I work with wear either fluro work jumpers and jeans or boring black "work" pants and tops. Boring black "work" pants bore me.
I have been pretty tame here actually.. mainly because walking down that long drive way deters me from wearing totally unpredictable stuff! But still.. I was wearing my cute leopard print flats the other day and some of the drivers commented.. that it looked like I was wearing slippers, ha ha.. didn't bother me, makes me laugh actually!
I like to dress mainstream- mainstream fashionable however, But i do like to branch out and push limits and I like some whimsical vintage and I love 70's-80's vintage because it's pieces can be easily mingled with basics to create a not too vintage look. I am not really into 50's vintage. I hate pucci print. I hate those colours, lime green, pooey mustard yellows. I dislike rockabilly only becauseI feel I have been there and done that. I also dislike gothic fashion because I feel its now old hat. I would never intentionally try and make someone wearing ANY type of fashion feel bad however.. when I think back to my teens and some of the things I wore for shock value though.. isn't that WHY some of us dress that way though? or is that only a teenagey angst-ey thing?

Wars of the Vamps

Ever since Twilight there has been a flurry of vamp novels!

I for one, have never been happier. I love anything vampy, I admit. I am a closet geek in the way of vampire-ness. I saw Twilight at the movies when it came out with my husband and loved it, I then bought all the books and read them in one crazy fortnight! They were good, very good, and I couldn't put them down, but by the end, I wanted to smash Bella. There was very little character development and growth with her and it read a little like fanfiction- like everything the author wanted to make happen for her, she did. A bit of tough love would have been good!

A few weeks ago I came across the vampire Beach novels by Alex Duvall. They were in Big W right near the Twlight books, and um, the covers of them, colour etc, were soo similar, and as I am a consumer (it's not my fault it's how I'm programed to function ha ha) I bought it. I didn't like it. I could see what the author was trying to do, take the vamps out of there cold misery and place them in a warm beachy climate, but to be honest it was all very OC/90210 like and not at all Lost Boy-like like I thought it would be. Nothing about the book made a lasting impression. Nothing.

Maybe a week later I was in Big W again and a red book caught my eye. Evernight by Claudia Gray. It was once again, about vamps in a school, very angsty, but not set in the Cali sun thank god. 100 pages in, it was good, but nothing spectacular. All of a sudden, it got good, really good! I was hooked. I have looked everywhere for the sequal, Stargazer.. have not located yet...

When I was trying to locate the sequel last Thursday when I was sick, I meandered into target and located the Vampire Academy books. There were three. I picked up the first somewhat skeptical because the name seemed soo cheesy!! But I took it home and started reading. I think maybe 50 pages was all it took. H O O K E D ! OMG, AWESOME characters, setting, violence, sex, bad language, unrequinted love... this book seriously stirred something inside me! I mean, it was not earth shattering but I think it will be forever set as one of my personal "cult pop media faves"
I think the turning point for me is when I actually want to be one of the characters.. I wanted to be Rose pretty bad!!
Now since I have read all three books in the series in 6 days i have to wait until AUGUST for the next one!! and PRAY and HOPE it is popular enough to warrent a movie! They have my vote! Make a movie out of Vampire Academy PLEASE :-)

Matchie

ohh my vest and roger match, aww
I bought this vest last thursday night. I wanted a lighter coloured vest and found this one in crossroads, it is exactly the same as my hooded black one but in caramel :-)
I think I would have preferred an oatmealy colour but I can deal with this colour. it's like roger's coat :-)

The Sailor

white + navy blue sailor tee-shirt dress- thrifted, savers
black cardi- thrifted, savers
white cardi (under black one)- supre

This is a little tricky to photograph and I had to do it myself at work as that is where I left the camera last night :( I think husband would have done a much better job. I think I may take another pic tonight when he gets home depending on whether I have thrown jarmies on that is, ha ha.. i like comfort.

So I bought this dress from Savers a few weeks back. I do like it. Its one of those top-and-bottom tee shirt dresses. All stretchy cotton. All Sailorey. I am a sucker for stripes. I have struggled a little with the navy blue-ness of it all but I think the black tights, red ballet flats and white cotton cardi do it ok. The black cardi was just because it was like 8 degrees out this morning and the white supre (!) cardi is tissue paper thin and not too warm (like I would expect anything else from supre)

These pics today are crap. The fog this morning made my hair look shit. and I am so so so tired this morning :( wah.

the best boots part 1

wedge heel loose ankle boots- target
Jeeze I love these boots. I bought them a few weeks ago but today is their debut. I wasn't going to wear them to work but since my husband drove me this morning and I have some black ballet flats in my bag I thought it would be ok. it is not so much that I thought the wedge heel might get uncomfy but more so that I don't want to trash them as I walk to the bus stop! I work in an office but it is in a big warehouse depo and I have a 10 minute walk to the bus stop, part of it is footpathed but there is a section of muddy grass.

Yesterday husb kids and I went to the shops. I wanted to get the two girls some new shoes. They were desperate for knee high black high heeled boots. Like the tacky kind. Not MY influence of course ha ha. They ended up with flat black round toe patent flats. Very cute, easy to match.
While we were out I popped into best and less because I wanted to see if they had any other cute tops like my white zebra one I bought last week. They did.. I bought the one I am wearing today, the peacock one and I bought a snakeskin print one too.. They are all the Lily + Lou label... they have some cute stuff! They also had a cropped red tartan vest too.. I tried it on but didnt buy it as I prefer longer, knitted (read- stretch) vests. But it was cute and very torrid-ey. It is just a pity that Lily + Lou is not available at all best and less's.

After I got Husb to take my pics this morning and we walked outside to leave for the day I decided to get him to schnap me outside.. as it was such a nice sunny cold morning...

I wore this last Tuesday. Tuesday night I got a lurgy and was off work Wednesday + Thursday (pretty much slept both days) Friday dragged my arse outta bed for work even though I still felt like shit, weekend we had the kids and I had to work at the roast. Bleh.
I bought this shirt last weekend. I wanted it after I saw it in a kmart catalogue but they didn’t have my size in my local kmart but then I found it at fountain gate. I am not 100% on it. I HATE saying this but I LOVE the look of a check shirt on really slim girls but I feel kinda fat and dumpy in it.. I do like the way it looks but I am not 100% convinced yet….

How cute is my new zebra tee? purchased last night for $25 from best + less. love it.

I have been soo blog lazy lately! I don't think that it has been that I have felt uninspired at all, I am just finding it hard to put myself and my thoughts into order that the moment and I get on here and write something and then I find myself trailing off or just writing stuff that isn't correct, isn't what I am feeling, you know? and I hate that. So I angrily and hastily press the X and piss off... hmm..
