a steamy affair

i made this chicken and avacado pasta for dinner tonight Itwas awesome. Unfortunately I only have one pic of mine and its the empy saucepan LOL




Today was meant to be high 30's but it wasn't really and I was disapointed. I love high 30's. Where is my freaking summer god dammit. Nah it was pretty steamy which sucks, I wanted sunny.. I wore this old maxi that I had to gather material at the back and tie in a band (noice) as it is too big but all my maxis are now too big and its annoying! In theory, I love a maxi but IRL I don't so much. This one I love, its a great length and I like how my shoulders look but soo many maxis look terrible I reckon..
anyway ignore my shiny face and messy hair, this was taken after I got home from a touch of grocery shoppingwith Billy + Mumma.

So I am back to work in 2 weeks and 2 days now. Jeez.. where has time gone? I am majorly excited but! Had a meeting with my managers yesterday and all sounds really good!
So I need to finish up my list of things to do!!
Where was it?

Spend a LOT of time in the sun with my bub- well, when the sun is out, so am I!
Walk to mums for breakfast with Billy- Have not done yet actually!
Have lotsa coffee with Mumma and Billy- Ohh yes done and done
Go to St Kilda for the day with Mumma and Billy. Coffee cake and walks on the beach- not yet!

My GAWD I was so super tired today.. I meant to get all this stuff done and I didn't even do any basic housecleaning. I suck as a wife! LOL. Hoping I will get my usual second wind later on tonight.
So this afternoon we took Billy to my brothers to say HEY and return his trailer. I wanted to go for coffee afterwards but twas too late by then.

these shorts I am wearing are awesome. They get kinda eaten up by my fatty inner thighs a bit LOL but they are super comfy and only cost $4.

Out of the comfort zone

Today was a nice sunny day. Not as warm and sunny as I like, but I'll take it lol. My maternity leave is almost over! Can you beleive it! I am looking forward to going back to work though.. sad I know.

Geoff Billy and I went out for coffee and to do some boring shopping today. Then we came home and Geoff made me his awesome lemon pepper chicken and rice for dinner. Mmm...

I have the most aussie bogan backyard don't I? LOL. I am pretty OK with wearing anything. I have great confidence and if I truly dont think I can pull something off then I won't wear it. I live in my bikini tops around the house in summer and wish I could wear one to the beach but I won't because I know I wouldn't feel comfortable. But that doesn't mean I can't flash my fat gut to the cyber world hey? This took a bit of GUTS lol.. but I am glad I posted it!

In other news.. I have heard rumours of a savage garden reunion for a concert in brissie for the floods?? I love love love SG and have not listened to any of their stuff for ages so I have decided to spend the next few posts sharing some of my faves.. this one, I Don't Know You Anymore was very poignent for me when I was 18 and just returned to melbourne. I left Melbourne a girl and I returned a woman I guess and so much had changed in those two years, people I knew and where close to, myself; I had changed. melbourne had changed. I used to listen to this song over and over again. it is beautiful and was so relevant to me at the time. Hope you enjoy xx

I am Fats in Fatty because a million years ago.. well like 10.. a boyfriend said he liked me fat because "Fats in!" And I said..or my friend at the time i am not sure.. "Fats in fatty" and it stuck. I am not really stubborn. I just throw tantys a lot and I guess thats from being stubborn?

well that depends, we have a love hate relationship. Actually more an abusive relationship lol. Sometimes I love myself and I think I look awesome. Fat and getting old, but awesome. Then sometimes I can only see the wobly turkey neck and small boobs and fatness and it annoys me but those moments are brief. I think I look great and I hope other people do too because I actually do care what others think of me although I kinda wish I didn't.

4. What is your favourite summer cold drink?

malibu and coke. tastes like summer.
5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do?
internet, mani's, pedi's, treadmill, fake tan, blog, read.
6. Is there something that you still want to accomplish in your life?
to be slim enough to feel comfortable to do a lot of things- like go to a carnival and not be scared I will break the rides lol. And to just been successful I guess.

when geoff and I told each other we loved each other for the first time. And when the pain eased up and my son was born LOL.

Break in the weather

Finally. Some nice weather. The sun has come out to say hey and I for one am saying hey back!

This is what I wore to go and have coffee with a friend from birth class and her daughter who is one month older than Billy.. and a whole lot smaller lol. Love my little chubby bambino. My friends mum who came as well commented on how much weight I have lost and it was such a nice feeling :) YAY!

This denim vest I am wearing is awesome. City Shit are selling one at the moment in a tacky mumsy slightly darker denim and they want $50 for it. Pfft. I am a medium in city chic and this is a xl from jay jays. It is MUCH nicer than theirs and half the price- its $25.

Oh Hi there. Yeah its been a while since I actually posted a prop outfit of the day. I guess its cause I am lazily enjoying the last few weeks of maternity leave and the weather is soo steamy that I cannot be bothered! See the clothes on the rack next to me? Its been raining so much here in melbourne that I have to dry clothes under my pergola lol. Its been pretty bad in queensland at the moment, awful flooding, people losing their homes, their loved ones, their lives. Its extremely devastating.

This top is from Ally fashion or something? I bought it inSurfers when we were on holidays and its actually a dress, a size medium standard sizes soo about a 12? lol. These shorts are new.. I know I am meant to be on a ban, I suck. They are from Millers soo embarrassing lol but I like the faded denim and bagginess to the leg. I wore this outfit to have a drive and quickly pop into the shops with mum. I ended up laybying a black and white heart print 50's style dress from Crossroads... omg its stunning. I can't find the pic on their website but ohh my. I will pick it up soon, only laybyed it cause I left my purse at home derr! Probably not a bad thing though!

BBQ

So we finally have the roof of our pergola done and although its not a terribly pretty outside look yet.. we decided to have a BBQ last saturday night. Just me, Geoff, Billy, katherine and Bec. Itwas nice.
I am all shiny and hot and tired but I am wearing the one item I bought from the pissy city chic boxing day sale- the dress that has a denim skirted bottom and a floral top. I bought a small which is a teeny bit snug, medium would have been better, but the small was the only one left and at $40, I wasn't putting it back on the rack!
Now that I have the dress home however I don't love love it.. I like it. I like my $20 Glassons size 16 dress a hell of a lot better. I am not sure what I don't 100% love about it.. the cut isn't fantastic.. skirt should be more a-line I think. Anyway, its not like I buy a lot from City Shit :)

Summer of 2010

Am having a pretty awesome summer so far..
have been out for breakfast with geoff and billy
have had coffee with mumma and billy
bought myself a new digital cam
joined the local library (online only so far)
been to the movies with Mumma to see Little Fockers
Have cleared out the weeds at the back of the house

Ahh. I love summer.
Summer for me brings back childhood memories of living in frankston opposite the beach when I was 7 or so and walking across kananook creek with my sister to go to the plaster fun house or to red rooster or the little cafe near timezone where the man made awesome lime spiders. Summer means watching season 2 of BH 90210 when it started to get good and Brandon worked at the beach club. It means hot weather and sprinklers, cool casual skimpy clothes. The smell of grass and the smell of tap water. BBQ's and fairy lights. Playing Barbies with Natalie in her mums garden with the babrie campervans. Back to school. Ceiling fans. Camping. Ahhh...

2010 what a year

I did a LOT in 2010.
I had a baby. I learnt to drive. I lost 30 kilos. I moved house.
without a doubt the biggest thing of 2010 was giving birth to my son. I wrote back in early 2009 about trying to get pregnant. My husband has had a vasectomy with his ex wife so we thought about a LOT of options before settling on IVF and we were so very lucky to get pregnant on our first cycle- it still feels very sureal to me- so this almost became a TTC blog but not quite. Part of the reason that I don't want anymore babies is because I don't um really want any lol and also because I feel we were so blessed on our first cycle I don't think we would be as lucky again- I don't see how! Anyway because of pregnancy was so special I think it takes precidence over things that happened 2010 lol.

I finished work Friday 30 April. I had an ultrasound booked that afternoon and they found that the baby was small. Very small. This wa such a shock to me, I had no idea, the doctors all told me he was a great size all throughout the pregnancy. I was so stressed, this compltely ruined the end of my pregnancy. I thought my baby was going to die. I had never heard of IUGR before. To help matters NOT i had a full house that weekend with my step kids and inlaws. The next day I made Geoff take me to Monash as I was just too stressed and I had pregnancy hypertension as well so I didn't think stressing was good. They hooked me up and said the heart beat was perfect! I thought I was going home and told geoff we were getting KFC on the way home, I was starving! Then a male doctor came in and said he had seen the ultrasound measurements and wasn't too happy. I got an internal where he told me I was already 1cm dilated and that there was a chance I was being induced in the morning. I shat myself, cried etc etc. Called mum. Spent a stressful night at Monash. The next morning they were still umming and ahhing but I was in the middle of breakfast when a doctor came to me and said- come on, we are going to start inducing you at noon! Mum and Dad arrived, geoff arrived. pain occured. at 6:59pm my little boy was born. He spent a few days in the nursery, because of his small size (2.2 kilos) he was unable to stay warm and had low blood sugars. He is now a whooping chubby healthy 8 month old boy. Ahh.. life is great!

one of my last days at work. I finished work on the friday and delivered on the sunday so I was only a few days of giving birth here. Felt very huge.
